If you were a reader of This & That at all, you might have noticed that we’ve been on a bit of an extended hiatus. Basically Roxy and I have had different things going on in our life, and while I have time for writing, she’s a bit more time poor. It doesn’t quite feel right continuing writing the blog without her. So until further notice, things will be a bit quiet over that end.
So welcome to Playing House. I thought the name was pretty appropriate for where I’m at in life right now, while at the same time being quite contradictory. On one hand I’m finishing up at uni, trying to figure out the direction my life is taking, and on the other hand I’ve just moved back in with my parents (I say just and it has been almost a year) and I’m pretty much living the Gen Y dream (not).
What is Playing House? It is a bit of musing, a bit of baking, a bit of dinner parties, a bit of ladies who lunch, and a bit of homewares lusting. Basically it is me. So I might feel the need to post on This & That occasionally, but mostly this will be my online hub.
If you’re new on the scene and want to know a bit more about me, well you’re lucky. I’ve got my feelers all over the World Wide Web, so here are a few places you might want to check out.
This & That - The blog I share with my absolutely gorgeous bestie Roxy. It’s quiet at the moment, but have a read through some of our old posts.
Always the Blogger, Never the Bride – My wedding blog. I don’t post half as often as I used to, but I still love it.
Tumblr – Original posts on Tumblr are pretty uncommon for me, I do a lot of reblogging. If you want to see the things that catch my eye, this is the place.
Kids Dressed as Doctor Who – This is my pride and joy. A tumbleog full of kids, dressed as Doctor Who. I have my own project, but I also post other kids.
Weekend Notes – This is where I earn money. I write articles on things to do in Adelaide, as well as recipes, general activities, and interstate goings on. The more you visit, the more I get paid, so go check it out if you have a chance.
Twitter - I can’t say I’m the most exciting person on Twitter to follow, but I’m by no means the least exciting. I sometimes make witty comments, but mostly I talk about baking, re-tweet other interesting fellows, and share interesting stories.
Linked In – Lastly if you’re at all interested you can check out my Linked In. One day hopefully it will be full of a lot of colourful experience.
So that is all for now. I’m off to go bake a pink layer cake and a chocolate smash cake for my nieces 7th birthday. Baking while trying to keep the kitchen clean is my playing house activity today.
X
